Derry Bros, a specialist in customs clearance, has expanded its services in Europe by implementing Regime 42, a procedure that simplifies VAT management for UK imports. Initially launched in Belgium and France, this system helps businesses streamline customs processes and improve cash flow. Colin Robb, Head of Operations & Sales at Derry Bros, highlights that Regime 42 enhances efficiency, reduces transit times, and optimizes import procedures.
This customs scheme allows companies to bring goods into one EU country and transfer them to another without paying import VAT at the border. Instead, VAT is deferred and applied at a 0% rate in the final destination. By eliminating immediate VAT costs and outdated customs procedures like the T1 transit document, the system reduces financial strain and improves supply chain efficiency. This leads to faster deliveries, lower transport costs, and better control over freight.
With more than 60 years of experience, Derry Bros continues to support businesses in managing complex cross-border trade. Its proprietary digital customs platform, Digicom, further streamlines operations, making imports faster and more cost-effective. By adopting innovative customs solutions, Derry Bros strengthens its role in international logistics.
